HSE - PPP Community Nursing Units
MCA Architects were appointed as Lead Technical Advisor by the HSE to the PPP Community Nursing Unit (CNU)
project. The Public Private Partnership scheme comprises the design and construction of several Community Nursing Units across multiple sites in Ireland. In 2019-2020, Irwin Acoustics worked with MCA on acoustic input into the PPP Tender documentation, review of specimen designs and analysis of noise surveys.
The buildings will provide spaces for between 50 and 120 residents, depending on the location. The largest of these will be at St. Finbarr’s Hospital in Cork, Killarney Co. Kerry and Thomastown in Kilkenny. There are also smaller buildings at Ardee, Midleton, Athlone and Clonmel.

Belfast Film Studios
Irwin Acoustics has undertaken a BREEAM assessment of available credits for acoustic design at Belfast Film Studios (Phase 2). Commissioning tests were completed in September 2024 on the film studio, workshop and office buildings. The new Phase 2 buildings contains two large purpose built sound stages, each over 20,000sqft.
